Introducing…

So I told you the other day that I don’t want to leave the illusion that I’m really doing it all, because I can’t!  And remember I told you we’re adding a team of writers around here to add more richness, recipes, fun and encouragement?  I have to say, this is an amazing team!

WriterButton

Between them, they have lots of children and none, typical and special needs, adopted and homegrown.  Some have beautiful marriages grown from ashes, and others will share about singleness.  Some homeschool and some do not.  But there is one thing they all have in common: this is a group of  women who love the Lord deeply, love their families and love encouraging other moms. They have all been in the valleys and on the mountains, and they all have a story to share.  I hope you’ll go check out their blogs today and get to know them a bit.  Many of them have written a post about their “every day” just for you, and I know you’ll be blessed!  And without further adieu, I’m excited to introduce: Continue reading

It only happens once each year…

Hi Busy Moms!

My friend, Kerry Beck, has organized Homeschool Super Heroes for the past 4 years. I’ve been interviewed, too and have had an opportunity to see first hand what they’re doing to encourage and equip homeschoolers. Here’s what they do: Kerry’s daughters interview homeschool experts and play the interviews as a Back to School event each August.

I just want to say one thing about this though: no one homeschools perfectly.  There. I said it.  However!  There are people who have “been there and done that,” and some of them them are willing to share what they’ve learned along the way.  This is why I love this so much. I’ll never forget the seasoned moms that talked me down out of trees and reminded me to focus on what really mattered when I was younger. That’s why I love this so much.  It’s like having a friend right in your living room!

These interviews are awesome and encouraging. One of the listeners said:

I appreciate the knowledge and wisdom of those who have paved the way in homeschooling. I will be homeschooling my two children and am grateful for the superheroes of homeschooling who willing to share what has worked for them. ~ Michelle

Well, Kerry had a brainstorm earlier this week.

Personally, I think she’s out of her mind….

homeschool labor day super deal from HomeschoolSuperHeroes.com and HowToHomeschoolMyChild.com

Kerry has combined all 60 interviews from her Homeschool Super Heroes and is providing them as a Labor Day “Super” Deal 4 year package. In other words, all the people that her daughters have interviewed over the past 4 years are in this package.

AND…they have transcripts & cheat sheets for those of us that would rather read, instead of listen.

For the next 5 days, Kerry is offering a Labor Day “Super” Deal where you can grab these Homeschool Super Hero interviews for less than 75 cents / expert.

If you missed any interviews this year…

If you just found out about Homeschool Super Heroes…

If you want to listen to these outstanding & encouraging interviews again & again…

As homeschool moms, our families and marriages can fall apart when we get it out of order. When I first found TBHM, I was thrilled to see that putting my husband before kids was the RIGHT thing to do. Such a marriage changer! What a joy to celebrate being “That Girl” and sharing with other mom friends that they are also “THAT girl”. My husband definitely says thank you for helping me get my priorities in order!

Tracye – We agree … you are THAT GIRL! Keep on loving that husband of yours 🙂 and keep us posted … we look forward with you to a harvest of JOY. 🙂  Your comment has been chosen and you’ve won a FREE copy of “Words Along the Way: A Journal for Busy Moms.”  We hope you will keep it with you and write down what God is doing in your life as the months go by.  To claim your prize, please send your mailing information to savannah@fchm.org.

Final Winner:  Busy mom Stephanie writes, “Not only does your blog remind me that I’m not alone in this homeschool journey, but it reminds me that getting the curriculum done every day is not the be all end all. Character counts. I need to remember to cultivate my kids whole person as well as make time for taking care of myself, my marriage, and my husband.”

Stephanie – You’ve nailed it!   You’re not alone. Character counts. Cultivate relationships. Take time to take care. Love your husband.
