I follow because Heidi reminds me to be real and to focus on loving my children more than doing my curriculum. After attending all her classes in Omaha, I came home with a new perspective. I announced to my tired and weary children that we were taking the summer off to have fun. This brought my 13 year old to tears of joy and I received many hugs from all. Today they found a new born fawn while exploring in our tree filled back yard. This moment would have been lost to math if I hadn’t listened to Heidi..

I follow for the words of encouragement and because you “get it”. No matter if its the pain of stepping on a Lego or if we are having a hard time homeschooling. You get it and you’re real about it and I cannot thank you enough for that.

I follow you because you were such an inspiration at the TTD conference in Spartanburg. That was the first time I saw you speak and loved every moment. I still read the notes regularly.

I follow because my husband ran across your page on Facebook and encouraged me to check it out. In a year we will begin our homeschooling journey with our 3 year old instead of sending them to a Department of Defense school, since my husband is in the military. We think it’s a great way to teach our 2 children as they grow without interrupting their education when he gets stationed in different places as well as give them a solid foundation in their Christian faith.

I follow because The Busy Mom makes me laugh. Wait…the REAL reason….I follow because it seems every time I post to my blog, or put an outline in my blog log, the same topic pops up over on HeidiStJohn.com And because I need the encouragement to get through this crazy idea, and my crazy day, and my crazy life. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had signed up for homeschooling advice and I admire you for knowing how to redirect yourself as you felt the need to and change from The Busy Homeschooling Mom to The Busy Mom. I enjoy the homeschool advice and comments, but so many things that us homeschool Moms experience are what other Moms are running into as well. It’s great to have support and encouragement on our journey as Moms.

Heidi, I was raised in a family that loves drama! Since I married my wonderful husband and we moved away I have learned how to live without drama. I love it. In May I had to go up and take care of my elderly parents and deal with some issues with siblings (adults one and all). I took your “No Drama” encouragement and verses with me that you had on Facebook from a few months ago. I so appreciated that. I don’t have to get sucked into their drama even though it hurts to watch how they hurt one another. I praise God that I have a home that lives drama-free. Thank you for your encouragement and wisdom.
