Good morning moms! I’m speaking in South Carolina today at an event for Orthodontists. Funny, huh?! Me, a busy mom with a bunch of doctors and specialists. Pray for me, will you? 🙂 I hope to be an encouragement and blessing to them as they work to balance career and family. Today, I’m talking about something near and dear to my heart: my faith. Read on for more encouragement from Ephesians 1:18-19.

Do you need some perspective today? The Bible tells us that it is the Lord’s great desire to give us His perspective, His eyes to see. Check out these verses in Ephesians 1:18-19:
“I pray, that with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may comprehend the hope to which He has called you, what are the rich benefits of His glorious inheritance among the saints, and what is the incomparable greatness of His power, available for us who believe, according to the exercise of His mighty strength.”
Did you see that last part? His mighty strength. His strength! Isn’t that awesome? His strength, not mine! I can’t do much on my own strength, I’m learning. The older I get and the older my children get, the more apparent it’s becoming that I need the Lord’s strength. I used to think that when my kids graduated from High School or got married, that the need for His strength would diminish (right?!), but in fact, I’m finding that the opposite is true. I’d say that I need His strength now, more than ever.
As a more “seasoned” mom, I find the needs are different, but definitely still there. I need to draw on God’s strength to be the wife and the mom I want to be. The one I know He wants me to be. I need to tap into the supernatural strength of the Creator, because I was designed with an innate need to have my needs met first by the one who created me. He sees me as one who has been called!
God sees me as a woman who can tap into His grace! Isn’t that awesome? Can you hear God’s voice in these verses? It’s as if He was saying, “Here, hold out your cup. Let Me fill it. Let me help you see yourself as I see you. Let me fill you with hope. Find your strength in Me.”
The Bible says that if you believe—this strength, this love, this mercy—God’s mercy—is available to you. What a promise!
Let the Lord be the one who fills your cup, precious mom. There is a depth to your soul that was designed to be filled only by God Himself. Do you believe it? Can you find five minutes today? Try to get alone with the Lord today and give Him your agenda—and ask for His instead.
His strength, His purpose. Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord. We need You.
Amazing timing!!
this is exactly what I needed to read this morning!
God’s timing is pretty amazing. 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement!
Looking forward to hearing you speak this afternoon since I am a wife of one of those Orthodontists!! Haha
I have been seeing these. Yesterday I finally took the time to stop and listen. I don’t think I will miss another one. Most if not all of your topics hit our home. Thank You
I love these! Thanks for the nudge.
Welcome to Virginia! Thanks for the encouragement!
Helene please come and say hello, I’d love to meet you!
Heidi, thank you for all the encouragement. I’m a new mom and recently started homeschooling so my plate is pretty full. You helped me realize I needed to squeeze in some alone time with God.
Thank you so much for these! They are encouraging and focusing, and get me to remember that I have better things to do today than be on Facebook. I’m off and running! Thanks again.
