Tough Times Need Tough Moms – Part 2

These are tough cultural times, and they require tough moms,  moms who will put on the armor of God and teach their kids how to stand against the enemy.  Are you ready to be a tough mom?

Scriptures

1 Peter 2:11

2 Timothy 3:16-17

More Like This From the Busy Mom

One Tough Mom – Don’t let the culture keep you from being the mom has called you to be. Grow in your faith and walk it out in front of your kids. Train them up in HIS ways. Let them KNOW that our God is almighty, sovereign, powerful and REAL!! Be one tough mother.

Dare to be a Daniel: Talking to Your Kids About Standing for the Lord – This is startlingly new territory for parents: explaining why a man is being celebrated as a woman on the cover of a magazine is not something we’re used to talking about. Here’s the thing: If we don’t set a place for the truth of Scripture at the table of our children’s hearts, the world will set out a feast all it’s own.

A Spiritual Crisis and a Crossroad: How Should Christians Respond? – Looking around, it’s clear that many Christians have unbuckled the belt of truth under enormous pressure from the culture. Many pastors have begun exchanging the truth of God’s Word for the easy “truth” of the world in an effort to be “loving,” except that denying the truth of God is never loving. I have to wonder if those pastors who will not stand on the authority of Scripture care more about winning a popularity contest than they do about speaking the truth.

And so, we find ourselves in a full-blown spiritual crisis. So where do we go from here? What do we do?

Take Hold of the Faith You Long For: Let Go, Move Forward, Live Bold – by Sharon Jaynes  On the outside, many women are well-put-together Christians with trendy shoes, beautiful children, and wide, white smiles. On the inside, those same women are little girls cowering at the edge of the playground, hoping no one notices them, yet still wishing they could join in. They’ve professed faith and know the right things, but they struggle to truly take hold of the life more abundant; that Jesus offers. Instead they settle for a life that’s less than what God has promised them.

In this liberating book, Sharon Jaynes reveals the most common reasons women get stuck with a mediocre, mundane faith. Then she shows women how to break free and move forward, leaving behind the feelings of inferiority, inadequacy, and insecurity that are holding them hostage. She uncovers untapped sources of confidence and courage, equipping women to move from knowing the truth to actually believing it–and living it out boldly in a life marked by true freedom.
