The Paradox of Truth and Grace

Christians have a responsibility to speak the truth written in the Word of God.  While many of us naturally lean toward boldly speaking the truth and others of us naturally lean toward being more gentle in our speech, the challenge we all have is to be sure we boldly speak this truth in a manner full of grace in order that we might be heard.

The Grace and Truth Paradox – Christians trying to model their lives after Jesus may find that He gets buried under lists, rules, and formulas. Now bestselling author Randy Alcorn offers a simple two-point checklist for Christlikeness based on John 1:14. The test consists of balancing grace and truth, equally and unapologetically. Grace without truth deceives people, and ceases to be grace. Truth without grace crushes people, and ceases to be truth. Alcorn shows the reader how to show the world Jesus — offering grace instead of the world’s apathy and tolerance, offering truth instead of the world’s relativism and deception.

Dear USA Presbyterian Church: Read Your Bible – It’s daunting to realize that my kids are learning about grace … from me.

Christian mom, let me ask you—are you teaching your children about God’s love? About His standard? About sin?

God’s Word should change people, not the other way around.

Read your Bibles, women of God! Let love transform you—and then speak the truth in love.
You can do it. You have the power of Christ in you!
