From Buddhism to Born-Again: One Man’s Journey to Jesus

Having grown up in the Buddhist religion, Jonnathan Truong understands firsthand the dangers of yoga and yes, why he believes Christians should avoid it. This seems to be a pretty difficult topic for yoga-loving Christians, some of whom are quite unwilling to even consider giving it up. Jonnathan’s story of faith is encouraging. I urge you to listen in today!

Jonnathan Truong is the Senior Pastor of God Manifest, a church and ministry based in Houston, Texas. God Manifest raises up, equips, and empowers leaders, churches, and ministries worldwide to reveal God’s unfailing love and radical goodness through the manifestation of signs, miracles, and wonders. He and his wife, Olivia, believe that their ministry has been specifically commissioned to activate people in the gifts of healing, prophecy, word of knowledge, emotional healing from extreme traumas, and deliverance through cultivating intimacy with the Lord. Growing up as a radical Buddhist, Jonnathan taught many occult practices such as opening the third eye, meditation, and astral projection. However, in 2003, Jonnathan was miraculously saved after crying out to God for the first time. His salvation journey also included God immediately using him to lead eight Mormon missionaries out of Mormonism to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Today, as a follower of Jesus, Jonnathan and his wife travel and preach the gospel, and he shares his previous experience in the dark arts to help others quickly discern occult practices hidden within the church. In 2019, Jonnathan published his first book, Buddhists, Mormons & Jesus, detailing his salvation story and how Christ has completely changed his life.
