To Love and Respect – At the end of the day, we make a decision as women to love and respect our husbands and we choose how we will do it. It is a choice that we make, not just because we love our husbands, but because of our reverence toward God and a desire to obey His Word.

Timing Really Is Everything – Have you ever had trouble communicating correctly with your husband? Have you ever been misunderstood? Have you noticed that it is actually easier to hear than it is to listen? I want to talk to you about the difference between hearing and listening. Hear that? 🙂 Hearing and listening are not the same. The goal of listening should be to understand the person who is speaking.
When a Husband and Wife Disagree – Praise the Lord for His Word, as we read the account of Esther, we find that her response has provided us with a beautiful, biblical model in how to approach a husband that is making a decision that we feel is wrong before Lord. In Esther 4:16, we see that the first thing she did was to gather her maidservants and begin to fast and pray. I know you’re tired of hearing about all these women in the Bible with their maidservants, but I feel your pain on that one.

The Unhurried Homeschooler – Homeschooling is a wonderful, worthwhile pursuit, but many homeschool parents struggle with feelings of burnout and frustration. If you have ever felt this way, you’re not alone! Most of us need to be reminded of the “why” of homeschooling from time to time—but “The Unhurried Homeschooler” takes parents a step further and lifts the unnecessary burdens that many parents place on themselves. Drawing on twenty years of homeschooling her eight children, Durenda Wilson gently reminds parents about the things that really matter, as she offers a clear portrait of what a life-giving home life can be during the homeschooling years. Reading “The Unhurried Homeschooler” is like having coffee with a trusted friend. You’ll be encouraged as you learn to do what God has put before you. This book will lighten your load while helping you learn how to raise life long learners and ENJOY the homeschool years with your kids.

Homeschooling Held Hostage -We’ve gone from a few brave moms who, without access to mainstream “curriculum”, managed to give their children an excellent education—but we’ve forgotten what made it excellent. It was excellent because these moms had a vision for homeschooling—they weren’t trying to re-create school at home. They were simply being obedient to the One who had called them to be different. They knew that if He had called them, He would equip them.
What is the Goal of Education? – It is a reminder that it matters who teaches your children. You see, discipleship is the goal of education. Christian homeschooling should not only be about teaching the ABC’s. Yes, academics are an essential component in homeschooling, but the foundation and power of homeschooling is found in the quiet resolve of two parents who are committed to teach their children to be fully devoted, mature followers of Jesus Christ.
3 Reasons NOT to Homeschool … and A Few Reasons Why We Decided to Give It a Try – There’s much more on my mind than whether or not parents should homeschool their kids. I think there are some very compelling reasons for Jesus followers to NOT take on the responsibility and commitment of homeschooling.
