  • In the past twenty years, we’ve seen a lot of changes in the homeschool community. There is much more pressure being put on homeschoolers to excel academically. We’ve gone from a few brave moms who, without access to mainstream “curriculum”, managed to give their children an excellent education—but we’ve forgotten what made it excellent.

It was excellent because these moms had a vision for homeschooling—they weren’t trying to re-create school at home. They were simply being obedient to the One who had called them to be different. They knew that if He had called them, He would equip them. And they were right.

Lifestyle

Join Heidi St. John as she teaches how the peace of God can flood our hearts and minds, no matter what is happening in our lives or around us. The world might be in chaos, but God’s people don’t need to be.

  • Tick Tock. Have you ever experienced a series of days, weeks or even months when you felt like you just could NOT get on top of all that you had to do? Have you just decided that it's either school or dinner? Or maybe you just gave up making dinner and now everyone has matching socks again! Most moms struggle with finding a balance when it comes to staying on top of the all we need to get done.

Have you ever read 2 Corinthians 12:9? You probably have... it says, "My strength is made perfect in weakness". Mothering reveals weakness ... it's true! And that's a good thing, because it means you get to give even more glory to the Lord when you graduate your kids see that they are walking with the Lord.

Busy mom, if you're struggling with trying to do it all, you will enjoy hearing some of Heidi's favorite tips for managing all that pulls us...and still finding time to fit in "other things" (like alone time with your husband!)

This is an opportunity GET SET FREE from the expectations of others, laugh out loud learn how two words: BE INTENTIONAL can make a huge difference in your ability to manage your home well. Bring a friend and leave your preconceived ideas at the door because real moms sometimes serve Cheerios for dinner!

  • In a time when voices of faith are being silenced, Christians have a wonderful opportunity. Psalm 107:2 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” It’s God’s desire that as His children, we would engage every corner of the culture—stepping out in faith, away from the comfort of our churches and bringing the hope of Jesus to a generation in moral, emotional and spiritual crisis. Listen as Heidi St. John shares three things that you can do right now to give feet and a voice to your faith! You’ll leave encouraged and inspired! This is a preview session from Heidi's Women's Conference, "Faith That Speaks." You can bring the entire conference to you area! Please indicate your interest on the speaking request form.

  • Did you know that you have influence? You do! The question is, what you are doing with the influence that God has given you? You have influence with your children, your friends, family, co-workers. What are you doing with it? How is your faith influencing those around you? In this powerful presentation, Heidi will share six character traits of leaders who have successfully navigated the ups and downs of leadership and used their influence to make a difference in the lives of those around them. Your legacy is already being built. What will it be?

  • In stressful situations, can you prayerfully wait for God's direction and timing? Today we are surrounded by a culture that is opposed to the principles of God's word. It's easy to succumb to fear: "What if I miss something?" "I know I'm supposed to do this... but WHAT IF I ruin my child?" "How can I raise all my children?" "What will my own parents say?" Moms grapple with these and many other fear-based questions, especially when we take a stand for how we are raising our children. But God says that as we trust in Him, HE directs our path, and He gives strength to the weary, wisdom when we ask for it, joy in times of stress and peace in times of fear.

Esther faced what seemed like an impossible circumstance, too. It is impossible to guess what might have happened to the Hebrew nation had there been no Esther. Except for her, Jerusalem might never have been rebuilt, and there might have been a different story to tell all future ages. This beautiful Jewish girl of long ago, though she herself may not have known it, played her part in paving the way for the coming of the Savior. And just as Esther has a part to play, so you have an important role in shaping the hearts and minds of a future generation. Come and be encouraged as Heidi reminds you about what is most important during the child rearing years: following the Lord wherever He leads - and modeling that faith for your children. Because where God guides - he also provides. Peace in times of fear.

  • "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed." Proverbs 31:8 NLT

With perhaps the exception of homosexuality and gay marriage, no other issue stirs the heart people more than abortion. Abortion has become one of the most persistently debated topics in America. Few people do not have an opinion concerning abortion, but the question for the Church is an urgent one: can we claim to follow Christ and be pro-choirce?

The question is, where God wants us to stand on this issue? In this presentation, Heidi will take audiences to the Bible, where God's heart for the unborn can be clearly seen. The Body of Christ has allowed the world, instead of the Bible, determine how it talks about issues. This session takes a deep-dive into the issue abortion and challenges attendees to love both the mother and her unborn child—because that's what God does. He loves them both.

If time allows, Heidi will take questions at the end of this session.

  • Fear. It’s a driving force in the culture today—and yet—God’s Word teaches us that fear is a spirit. “God did not give us a spirit of fear,” so why are we so afraid? You’re not helpless in this battle for the heart and mind of your child—we’ll discuss why an “exodus” from our public schools is happening and why homeschooling is growing in leaps and bounds.

Parenting

Proactively raise your arrows with a biblical worldview

  • Today’s mothers are living in challenging times. We’re facing things that our mothers could never have imagined. From Internet predators to the rise of domestic terrorism to the discovery GMO’s BPA’s and STD’s… our lives are vastly different than the generation before us. Many moms are struggling with fear of the future and worry about raising children in today's culture—but God says loud and clear, "Do not be afraid! Be strong and courageous!" Mom, you have a mission. Your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to raise the next generation of teachers, doctors, judges, police officers, grocery store clerks, attorneys, nurses—and parents. Yes! You are raising the next generation of parents. Look around. It doesn’t take very long for one generation to hand the baton to the next, and as mothers, we've got to be ready to prepare our children for whatever they may face as followers of Jesus Christ. Heidi will challenge as she talks about what it will take to "Become MomStrong" —drawing on truths from God's Word to answer the tough questions this generation of kids is asking and prepare moms to meet the challenges head-on.

  • Our grandparents were bombarded with Christian values in a world firmly grounded on faith and family. Our parents were a part of a cultural revolution in which faith became laughable and families were disassembled on a wholesale basis. Learn why nurturing Biblical Discernment is an essential lifeskill for any parent hoping to navigate the treacherous cultural waters of the 21st century.

  • Many parents are struggling to talk to their kids about the rapidly changing cultural landscape, and we often forget that God’s unchanging Word offers relevant answers to even our most challenging questions. It’s more important than ever to teach our children what God says about their worth, their sexuality and their future. God has good things planned for those who love Him! Join Heidi for an hour that will challenge and encourage you as she speaks directly to the issues of the day and reminds you of your role in the midst of it all: to teach your children to walk in the Truth.

  • Jay and Heidi St John have raised six of their seven kids to adulthood—often in spite of themselves. It’s tough to let your kids make their own decisions, especially when you’re so used to doing it, right? What if you see them making an unwise choice? Homeschooling parents often struggle to release their teens to pursue God’s plan for them but it’s crucial that we do. Join Jay and Heidi as they share tools that every parent on the precipice of releasing their child needs. • God’s Word teaches us that the primary job of parents is to raise children who are equipped, both spiritually and mentally for the “real world.” Our assignment? n. The state or quality of mind or spirit that enables one to face danger or fear with confidence and resolution; bravery.

Has God called you to leadership? If so, one thing will certainly be required: courage. Throughout the Bible, we see God instructing His leaders to lead with courage. Courage helps leaders make wise decisions—even when they are unpopular. It takes courage to make the hard decisions, courage to deal with problems honestly, and courage to listen with an open heart and mind to voices that are critical of your leadership. We'll talk about how to cultivate courage and inspire courageous living from others within your organization.

**NOTE** The St. Johns have been leading ministries both in and out of the church for over thirty years, and are the founders and executive directors of Firmly Planted Family, a non-profit ministry that is dedicated to strengthening and encouraging today's Christian family. They also direct the Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center in Vancouver, WA

It may be frustrating, even exasperating at times, but successful leading in the body of Christ is not just about accomplishing a vision. It is about growing other leaders and knowing how to respond to challenging situations. Come and bring a friend for a dose of information and encouragement. You can do it!

  • Parenting. It’s exhausting and exhilarating. Frustrating and fascinating. Like all things that are God-breathed, it’s a Kingdom building exercise. It’s a masterful strategy, this idea of using all night feedings and miscarriage and labor and teenagers (see how teens and labor go hand in hand?) and even homeschooling to teach us to trust the heart the Father. But that’s exactly what God wants you to learn to do. Join Heidi St. John for an hour of encouragement and inspiration that will lift you up and remind you of the WHY of homeschooling.

  • In the past twenty years, we’ve seen a lot of changes in the homeschool community. There is much more pressure being put on homeschoolers to excel academically. Heidi and Jay St. John are the homeschooling parents of seven perfect, never messy, always obedient very sweet, usually tidy, generally obedient, always energetic, very curious, children. They have homeschooled all the way through high school.

One of the most challenging aspects of homeschooling a houseful is figuring out how to teach them all while finding time to manage the rest of your day! In this workshop, Heidi will share seven secrets of multi-level teaching that will empower, encourage and enlighten you! If you've got a houseful, then you've got your hands full! Let's laugh together, and rediscover the JOY of homeschooling with a full heart AND a full house!

  • Let's face it. Homeschooling is challenging. Sometimes it can feel like a major accomplishment just to take a shower and get the breakfast dishes cleaned up before dinner! Most homeschool moms feel the pressure of providing their children with a solid academic foundation ~ but there's so much more to homeschooling than academics, isn't there? The truth is that the greatest accomplishment of your homeschooling is to nurture your children in the ways of the One who made them.

REAL LIFE Homeschooling is about getting real when it comes to the issues that are unique to homeschooling families ~ but more important than that, it's about being reminded why we are homeschooling in the first place. It's about keeping our eyes on the goal of discipling our children. If you have been or are on the edge of homeschool burnout, if you are wondering why God has called you on this homeschooling journey, or if you just need some honest, real encouragement, this is the one homeschool workshop you can't afford to miss out on!
