Happy Fall Y’all!

I love decorating. I love making my home beautiful and a place that my family can enjoy. But, I admit, when I browse the blog world of home decorating blogs, I get a little home envy. Most of us can’t afford to have big decorating budgets, so where do I turn for frugal fall decorating ideas?? Pinterest, of course! 🙂

I want to share with you a few of my very favorite ways to decorate my home seasonally and frugally at the same time!

TOP FIVE Favorite Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas

  1. Bring nature indoors ~ this is probably one of my favorites! See that little pumpkin in my top picture? Oh pumpkins, how I love thee! I put them everywhere during fall! Pumpkins, a bowl full of gourds, pine cones, branches in a vase, you name it! If it’s in your yard, it’s FREE! Bonus! But, I bought a little bag of small pumpkins at the grocery store for less than $3. That’s what you call Frugal Fall beauty.
  2. Start a thankful tree ~ this is another yearly tradition in our home! Don’t make this any harder than it has to be! Find a vase  {that you already own} have the kids go out in the yard and find some branches, and together cut out a bunch of fall leaf shapes from construction paper. Or, one year we used fall colored scrapbooking paper that was in my stash and cut out circles. Punch holes in your leaves or circles and start hanging them on the thankful tree each day! Be sure to have your children write one thing they are thankful for each day, you will love seeing their gratitude written in their own sweet little handwriting.
  3. Fall Printables in a Frame ~ this is another one that is SO easy! I love printing out seasonal printables that I usually find on Pinterest. So, if you’ve never tried this before, head over to Pinterest, in the search bar type “fall printables” and just look at all the beautiful, creative things that pop up!! Some people are so talented and creative! I love that they share with us. 🙂 In the past I’ve printed out things for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Easter, Fall, Spring…you get the point. There is a printable for every season at Pinterest. Use a frame that you have in the closet and you have a unique, frugal beautiful way to decorate your home! I especially love the ones with Scripture because I love filling my home with God’s Words. {Look at our Busy Mom Pinterest board for Fall Home Decorating, I have added lots of fall printables for you!}
  4. Hang a THANKFUL banner ~ this is another idea that I borrowed from one of my million friends at Pinterest.  There are so many great choices out there for printing out your own letters to spell whatever you want to spell! You could spell THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, GIVE THANKS, or whatever fall phrase you love! I have pinned a few of these printable banner letters on to the Fall Home Decorating pinterest board also!
  5. Make a burlap wreath ~ burlap, oh burlap, how I love thee. There are pinterest boards galore dedicated solely to decorating with burlap. Not that I need top to bottom coverage in burlap, but a few accents here and there are perfect for fall! If you already have an ugly wreath at your house, you are set! But, you can get a wreath form at Hobby Lobby for just a few dollars. Buy a small piece of burlap, cut it into strips and wrap your wreath form in it. You can really get away with SIMPLE in my opinion, but if you want to add a few fabric rosettes – with scraps you already have – that adds a lot too! {Here is a very simple tutorial for making fabric rosettes that I have been using for several years.}
